The MOTI 'model'

About the model

A comprehensive model underpins the content.

 

  1. This ‘model’ is key to understanding the scope of the resource at a glance.

  2. It follows the natural progression of a transformation, from inception through to implementation, and the subsequent monitoring of the change.

  3. The model was designed using an Apple graphics tool called ‘Freeform’, which was converted to downloadable sections.

  4. The model may appear overwhelming and complex; however, upon closer examination, you will see that every topic (or ‘box’) is important.

  5. An organisation needs to determine how much attention and focus should be applied to each area, and there are tools included to help you to do just that, e.g. ‘ organisational analysis’.

 

 

The MOTI ‘model’ is broken into eleven major sections as shown below.

 

  1. Introduction

  2. Getting Ready

  3. Transformation Strategy, Roadmap & Program Charter

  4. Doing it - processes systems and technology

  5. Doing it - people

  6. Doing it - communications

  7. Doing it - with the organisation

  8. Doing it - with stakeholders

  9. Project / Program Office

  10. Implementation

  11. Post Go-live

 

Within these sections, there are subsections and topics.

 

For example, under Project/Program Office, there are four subsections titled:

  2. PMO functions

  3. Reporting

  4. Testing

 

And under ‘PMO functions’, there are topics (downloadable PDFs called ‘Information Papers’) such as:

  1. ‘Security’

  2. ‘Risk Management’

  3. Documentation
